LG showcases a “mobile digital parlor” at CES

Electronics company LG has attended the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas with a couple of digital concepts: a motorhome called the Lifestyle Solution for Mobility (LSM) and a smart monitoring feature known as the LG Mobility Experience.

The LSM is shaped like a van and has two interior zones. The front end houses the driver’s cabin, while the rear zone gives off cozy living room vibes – at least, that’s what the company wants you to believe. There is a large TV plugged in to some speakers, an extra display for real-time system info, a fridge, a traditional-looking armchair and a whole wardrobe for clothes.

The LG Mobility Experience is a software suite that keeps all systems running and enables vast customization options. For example, you can have individual climate and lighting presets for different use cases should you decide to use the LSM as a mobile study, a workshop, a hobbyist vehicle or just a recreation zone.

A large number of sensors integrated throughout the interior gathers data for AI to process and feed to the apps on board. LG claims it allows the car to adapt itself to the driver and passengers’ needs in real time, adjusting the settings every single second. It can also monitor the driver’s health and mood using heart rate monitors and facial expression reading. Wellness-conscious owners may appreciate their car telling them about potential health risks.
