Ram 1500 Mammoth 1000 Land Stand goes on sale

The old version of the Ram 1500 TRX with a V8 boosted to 702 American hp is gone from production for good. Its successor doesn’t quite live up to its fame with just six cylinders and less power and torque. Luckily for hardcore truck lovers, Hennessey still offers this model in a spec fittingly named “Mammoth 1000 Land Stand”.

Working with a 1500 TRX Final Edition, the engineers bolster its output to 1,026 PS (1,012 hp / 755 kW) and 1,314 Nm (969 lb-ft) of torque. This is accomplished with the help of a high-end supercharger, new internals and a radical overhaul of the cooling system – there is little point in a tuned truck that overheats the moment it swerves off the road.

The statistics are impressive. The Mammoth needs 3.2 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) and 11.7 seconds to complete a quarter-mile run. Its stock counterpart does the same in 13 seconds.

Elsewhere, Hennessey’s exclusive pickup wears new bumpers at both ends, LED-based auxiliary lights, and robust-looking 20-inch wheels available with 35- and 37-inch tires. The interior stays stock, unless you count the company’s logos on the headrests and similar minor accents.
