Lynk&Co teases a new flagship SUV

Geely’s Lynk&Co brand has posted the first previews of a large and powerful SUV so far known only as the L946. It is slated to go into production next year, becoming the marque’s new flagship. CarNewsChina believes it will be a plug-in hybrid.

Judging by the images, the car looks more or less traditional by the Chinese domestic market standards. It has a very level shoulder line and a roof that’s almost parallel to it. The proportions are classical, too – a short front overhang, a long rear one. H-shaped headlights and a large air intake in the front bumper lend it a pinch of individuality, but that’s about all so far.

Note the orange brake calipers. It looks like the L946 has a sporty reputation to live up to. As such, it will probably pack a high-end hybrid powertrain. The LiDAR hump on the roof suggests that it will be rather advanced on the ADAS front, too. Finally, according to CarNewsChina citing anonymous sources, it will be a seven-seater first and foremost.

The sales are expected to begin in March 2025. Prices may start at a cool 300,000 Yuan ($41,000+). It is still unclear where the L946 may land in the manufacturer’s lineup, but we wouldn’t be surprised if it replaced the outdated Lynk&Co 09, marketed as a more premium alternative to the model 08 (see video).
