Lotus Elise gets reimagined as a Safari off-roader

GFWilliams, an independent designer and photographer, founded a new tuning company called Get Lost in order to introduce his vision of an off-road car running on the Lotus Elise underpinnings. It’s still a concept at this time, but the deliveries may start before the end of the year if there’s enough demand.

Williams emphasizes that the Elise seen here isn’t just a styling effort – it’s been redone from the ground up on the standard chassis with rally uses in mind. It features all-new bodywork with flared fenders, fender-mounted side mirrors, rally wheels shod in wide tires, square headlights and proper anti-fog lights. A limited-slip differential and a hydraulic handbrake ensure proper handling on any terrain, and the suspension is said to be completely new. We don’t know all the details, but it results in 100 mm (3.9 inches) of extra ground clearance, which surely helps.

The engine remains a mystery, but if those large twin air scoops are any indication, it’s no longer stock. The Elise was criticized back in its time for having only four cylinders and 220 PS (217 hp / 162 kW) to work with.

Get Lost is already taking orders, so contact them for further details if interested.
