Changan Nevo E07 SUV/truck goes into production

Following an Auto China premiere, Changan has launched the production of its Nevo E07 utility vehicle in Yubei.

The model is based on a new architecture known as the SDA and is sized 5,045 x 1,996 x 1,640 mm (L/W/H) with 3,120 mm between the axles.

In its standard guise, it is an SUV with a longer-than-usual rear overhang sporting a U-shaped LED insert. Pushing a button turns it into a pickup truck, moving the glass top out of the way with servomotors. You can also drop the tailgate and fold down the rear seats to get a perfectly level truck bed. The interior seems more or less standard for China with many displays in sight.

The cheapest trim will ship with a single electric motor rated at 343 PS (338 hp / 252 kW). The pricier AWD spec adds a second motor with 256 PS (252 hp / 188 kW). The respective top speeds of these two versions are 201 and 210 km/h (125 and 130 miles per hour).
