Valarra-tuned C6 Corvette fails to sell for $60k+

A Chevrolet Corvette C6 dressed out in an eye-catching body kit from Valarra went on sale in the United States earlier this week and was bid to $63,475, which the seller reckoned was not enough.

Even when it came out in the early 2000s, the Valarra body kit came across as a rather over-the-top deal with its massive front and rear end reworks. Although obviously designed to evoke associations with supercars, it did a better job parodying some of the wilder rides from the Grand Theft Auto video game series. Its biggest highlights included a diffuser capable of eclipsing that of some racecars and a humongous rear wing mounted straight onto the frame of the car. A staggered wheel set in 20 and 22 inches rounded off the tuning along with a generous drop in suspension height.

The stock 6.2-liter LS3 V8 under the hood continued to churn out its usual 435 PS (430 hp / 320 kW). The first owner of the car seen here bought it in 2008 with two optional packages. One of them, Z51 Performance, improved upon the stock C6 ‘Vette with perforated disc brakes, revised gear ratios and some other sports-friendly mods. The other one, 4LT, added lots of leather to the cabin along with heated power seats and a Bose audio system. Apparently, not even these nice additions could persuade buyers to part with more than sixty grand for it.
