Pininfarina B95 cosplays the Batmobile

Automobili Pininfarina has shared some images of a B95 supercar stylized with the help of Warner Bros. and Relevance International Marketing to look like Batman’s ride of choice. It will be present at the Monterey Car Week in California starting from August 16, exactly where Pininfarina unveiled the original B95 Barchetta a year ago.

The show vehicle still qualifies as a concept, but the Italian company actually has plans for four production units. The customers will get two Batmobile examples named Gotham and two more named Dark Knight. In each of these pairs, one will be based on the B95 and the other one on the Battista chassis. Pininfarina previewed both via virtual renderings in late April. You can also see the original Batmobile named the Tumbler in some of the photos – the very one that starred in Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy.

The Gotham duo is dedicated to Bruce Wayne, the civilian identity of the DC superhero. Their design and trim are supposed to reflect the billionaire’s dedication to technological progress and innovation. The speedster seen here wears a gloss-black tint known as Argento Vittorio, special wheels and brown leather in the cabin with some exclusive stitching. There are Wayne Enterprises logos all around and the movie quote “All men have limits... I ignore mine” on the driver’s door. The dash and infotainment displays have been reskinned, and even the virtual assistant on board speaks in the voice of Alfred Pennyworth, the Dark Knight’s butler and faithful assistant.

Pininfarina decided not to mess with the powertrain. It’s hardly an issue, because the B95 comes equipped with quad motors rated at 1,900 PS (1,874 hp / 1,397 kW), as well as a massive 12-kWh battery pack. It zaps from zero to 100 km/h (62 mph) in less than two seconds and can exceed 300 km/h (186 mph). What we don’t know at this point is how much this special series costs.
