New Brabus 500 is a Mercedes S-Class in an all-black body kit

The Mercedes S-Class is the go-to flagship with a tri-pointed star badge, but those who desire still more individuality may turn themselves to Brabus for a round of tuning.

As usual, the killer feature comes in the guise of a sizeable power boost made possible thanks to an external ECU. The S500 six-cylinder revs up to 493 PS (486 hp / 363 kW) and 590 Nm (435 lb-ft), reducing sprint time to just 4.7 seconds. The S400d diesel mill also enjoys a nice push to 365 PS (360 hp / 268 kW) and 750 Nm (553 lb-ft) of torque.

Knowing Brabus, there is little doubt that these two upgrades won’t be the last. The twin-turbo V8 version remains neglected so far, but it will probably get its share of attention soon.

Aerodynamic updates include a front spoiler, side air intakes, a revised rear end, and dark chrome tips for the exhaust system. A carbon-fiber rear spoiler is underway to joining the list soon, as black as the rest of the kit.

Wrapping up the offer are 21-inch Brabus Monoblock M Platinum Edition alloy forged wheels.

Prices start at €293,000.
