Nissan Note Aura debuts as a premium REX hybrid

Nissan unveiled the next-gen Note hatchback half a year ago, and has now announced a special edition of it named Aura, which will be distanced from the main model.

The new car boasts redesigned lights all around, a new radiator grille, and different bumpers without a black insert in the back. As for dual-tone finishes, the regular Note has a few options, too, but the Aura has more.

Interior trim makes use of imitation wood and tweed details. Seats can be wrapped in a combination of materials or just fake leather (optional). Noise proofing becomes better thanks to improved insulation inside the doors and the roof, and the front half of the glass dome is now slightly thicker than before.

Standard equipment includes 17-inch wheels, adaptive headlamps and a Bose audio system. Paying extra unlocks Bose Personal Plus with dual speakers built into the headrest of the front passenger’s seat.

Power comes from an e-Power hybrid system that incorporates a range-extending petrol engine rated at 82 PS (81 hp / 60 kW) and an electric motor that now churns out 136 PS (134 hp / 100 kW) instead of 116 PS (114 hp / 85 kW). The torque goes up from 280 Nm (207 lb-ft) to 300 Nm (221 lb-ft). The top spec has AWD courtesy of a rear-mounted motor rated at 68 PS (67 hp / 50 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft).
