2022 Honda Integra shows up on patent images

The renowned Integra compact will be making a comeback soon, apparently in two different variants with Acura badging for the USA and Honda for China.

In August, Acura released a teaser heralding the coming of a U.S.-spec Integra next year. Now, a patent office in China published photos of an Integra model meant for that country’s domestic market.

The way it looks right now, the Acura Integra will be essentially a successor to the marque’s ILX sedan, its smallest and cheapest car on offer. In turn, the Chinese Integra looks like a slightly altered 11th-generation Honda Civic (watch the video and compare for yourself).

The two sedans will likely be produced at two different factories, though. The Civic is currently being made at Dongfeng-Honda, and the Integra will probably be assembled at GAC-Honda. The car manufacturer did exactly the same with its Avancier and Inspire models for China, essentially localized variants of the UR-V and Accord, respectively.

It would seem that the new Honda Integra for China will be identical to the Civic except for 15 mm (0.6”) of extra body length (total 4,689 mm), new headlights, and redesigned bumpers. It will come powered by the same 1.5-liter turbo rated at 182 PS (179 hp / 134 kW). The premiere should follow in a few weeks or months.
