Land Cruiser Prado gets a bed for two, further customization options

Toyota has unveiled a range of options available for the new Land Cruiser 250 a.k.a. Prado from such Japanese tuners as Jaos, Modellista, and Toy Factory. All three brands are now selling their products straight through Toyota dealerships.

The announcement coincides with the sales launch of the Land Cruiser Prado in Japan, where it’s now called the 250 instead of Prado. The same goes for the United States, while some other markets continue to hold onto the Prado name.

The kits from Jaos and Modellista aim at improving both the looks of the SUV and its off-road chops. They include assorted skid plates, side sills, fender flares, auxiliary lighting and wheels shod in off-road tires. The Modellista package also contains a bag/seat pillow like the one the company is already offering for the Crown Sport.

For its own part, Toy Factory gives the SUV a wooden frame and four flat pillows that can be transformed into a bed for two or a smaller bed for one person – depending on how many seats you fold. When not used, the pillows are supposed to be stored in the trunk.
