Honda unveils the S660 Modulo X kei car in Japan

The Japan-exclusive Honda S660 two-door roadster, quite popular when it came out, has recently suffered a decline in sales. To liven things up, the manufacturer has given the series a facelift.

The special edition comes equipped with more aggressive-looking bumpers, an active spoiler, a Bordeaux Red soft top, glossy black side mirror holders as well as fog lamp and rear light housings, and a pair of LED-framed headlights.

With respect to the interior, the kei car offers leather-draped sport seats, steering wheel and dashboard, and a titanium-alloy gear switch. On the technical side of things, the Honda S660 Modulo X features stronger brakes and new suspension with multi-stage damper adjustment.

The car got to keep its small-time engine only capable of 64 hp (48 kW) and 104 Nm (77 lb·ft) of torque. Interested buyers may choose either manual or IVT.

Each special edition vehicle sells for the equivalent of U.S. $25,000 and above.

If you are interested in the Honda brand, then there is more good news coming your way. The company is currently working on a large-scale update of its S660 roadster series, with the premiere scheduled for early June.
