Exlantix ES sets an international slalom record

The Chinese electric saloon had to bow and weave its way past a dozen other cars in traffic in a challenging handling test known as the high-speed slalom. It has succeeded and smashed through a record while at it.

According to the test conditions, the driver was supposed to overtake at least 13 cars moving in a straight line on a highway within 30 seconds. The cars were spaced 30 meters (98.4 feet) apart from each other and were moving at 70 km/h (43.5 mph). The driver only had three attempts to try and beat the record.

In the best run, the EV managed to pass 16 cars in 29.893 seconds – an absolute record that was entered into the Guinness Book. The driver accelerated to 132 km/h (82 mph) when approaching the first car and went as fast as 140 km/h (87 mph) during some overtakes.
