Xpeng invests big in flying cars

Chinese automaker Xpeng is constructing what it calls the world’s first factory specializing in the assembly of personal aerial vehicles.

The company’s strategy envisions the construction of dedicated facilities for the development and testing of such vehicles. Once at full capacity (est. 2026), it is expected to be able to churn out up to 10,000 units per year.

In the meantime, Xpeng has opened a pre-order form for its “Land Aircraft Carrier” (LAC, the quadcopter in the gallery here), so you can grab one in advance. Just keep in mind that it is still an experimental prototype at this stage.
