Liberty Walk imagines a wider Mazda MX-5/Miata

The famous Japanese tuning company has tackled a Mazda MX-5 roadster on the holidays, turning it into a JDM widebody racer.

Compared to the stock car (see video), the tuned Miata boasts rather extreme-looking bolt-on fender flares. They are so wide that extra trim parts are needed for them to align seamlessly with the rear doors. Needless to say, the wheels get replaced, too, and the suspension gets dropped as far as it would go. Aftermarket spacers expand the wheel span by a bold 30 centimeters (almost 12 inches). Extreme negative camber rounds off the showy build.

Liberty Walk is already selling the widebody kit starting from U.S. $4,675. This amount doesn’t include any suspension or camber mods, nor does it include the new wheels, and the flares are made from glass-fiber reinforced plastic. If you’d rather get carbon-fiber flares, set aside $6,248 and contact the shop for the rest of the prices.
