Next-gen Honda Amaze touches down in India

Customers in India may pre-order their compact Amaze sedan starting from 799,000 Rupees.

The tech stays more or less the same, but the exterior design, the interior layout and the trim options have all been revised. Starting on the outside, the bumpers are different, the headlights have grown slimmer for a more modern look, and the radiator grille has become noticeably larger. The latter is in line with Honda’s latest design language.

As for the cabin, it seems to have absorbed design cues from a whole number of international models, including the Honda Elevate SUV. There is a 7-inch digital dash, an 8-inch infotainment system and what Honda calls the biggest-in-class ADAS package. The caveat is that you have to buy the top trim version in order to access all the electronic assists. The base trim finally gets six airbags, but that’s about it.

An old 1.2-liter naturally aspirated engine still provides its usual 90 PS (89 hp / 66 kW) and 110 Nm (81 lb-ft) of torque. The transmission can be five-speed manual or variable.
