Tuners turn Honda SUV into a Jeep lookalike

For its Tokyo Auto Salon lineup, Japanese tuning company Damd has prepared a special Honda WR-V “Reverb” that sports a front fascia reminiscent of the retro Jeeps.

Damd is known for its styling kits that make JDM cars look like American or European ones. This one is no exception. The package includes a rectangular hood cover, new fenders, a bulky front bumper and a radiator grille that almost looks like Jeep’s original until you notice that there are only six vertical slits (the original has seven).

Completing the look are boxy headlights and stylish side decals. Stamped steelies shod in BFGoodrich tires lend the affordable crossover an off-road-capable look, but we suspect it’s just that.

The standard JDM-spec Honda WR-V (see video) comes equipped with a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated engine and a continuously variable transmission. It maxes out at 121 PS (119 hp / 89 kW) and can’t be optioned with AWD.

Preorders aren’t open yet, but we expect them to open after the Reverb debuts in Tokyo. Damd usually installs its kits on customer cars and also ships them worldwide as DIY packages.
