Peek inside the new Kia Sportage cabin

The fifth-generation Kia Sportage (NQ5) will soon hit the showrooms all across South Korea, and the company decided to share some new photos of the car with us.

Note that the exterior pics shown so far depict the top trim level with 19-inch wheels and a dual-tone body finish (olive body/black top). The more affordable versions remain to be revealed.

In contrast, the interior pics show both the top spec and the base spec. The former features a large touchscreen display, a climate control system and other premium features. The latter makes do with a small monochrome multimedia display, s regular air conditioner and simple fit-and-finish.

The NQ5 Sportage model comes closest to the NX4 Hyundai Tuxon in terms of equipment and tech. At 4,660 mm (15.3 ft.) long with 2,755 mm (9.04 ft.) of wheelbase, it is 180 mm (7 inches) taller than its predecessor and has its axles positioned 85 mm (3.3 inches) farther apart.

Customers in South Korea can order it since July 6, and the car is already a sales hit. The main engine is a 1.6-liter gasoline turbo-four rated at 180 PS (178 hp / 132 kW) and 264 Nm (195 lb-ft) of torque. You can order it with a six-speed stick shift or seven-range DCT. Another option comes in the form of a 2.0-liter turbo diesel linked to an eight-speed A/T and good for 186 PS (183 hp / 137 kW) and 416 Nm (307 lb-ft) of torque.
