Exeed RX evolves into a powerful AWD hybrid

Chinese premium car marque Exeed has unveiled a particularly powerful new version of its RX SUV. Called the C-DM, it is a whole lineup of plug-in hybrids with an option for all-wheel drive. The sales will start in March.

All C-DM variants ship with a 1.5-liter turbo engine rated at 156 PS (154 hp / 115 kW) and 215 Nm (159 lb-ft) of torque. You can choose from three electric motors depending on your needs. The base spec gives you a simple 102-PS (101-hp / 75-kW) motor and 83 km (51 miles) of all-electric range. Paying a little extra both upgrades the motor to 122 PS (120 hp / 90 kW) and bumps up the battery size for 160 km (99 miles) of range. In hybrid mode, both can cover over 1,300 km (800 miles).

The third and final option lets you get a superior 234-PS (231-hp / 172-kW) electric motor on the rear axle. This Exeed RX is an all-wheel drive hybrid with slightly less than 150 km (93 miles) of electric range. Due to the lower power efficiency, it is capped at less than 1,000 km (621 miles) of total range, though.

On the exterior side of things, the car stays the same except for a second added charging port. The interior also looks unchanged. The pricing remains to be revealed.
